Appeasing Nergal

Welcome to the Acrobatch house, where chaos breeds creativity amidst a world in disarray. Join three circus performers as they entertain themselves with everyday household items to execute mind-bending tricks and explore some wild theories on the wrath of ancient gods and their impact on the modern world.

Appeasing Nergal is a reflection on the events of the last few years; strap in for a journey of housemate camaraderie, juggling and the occasional piece of government health advice.

Acrobatch gratefully acknowledges the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and CircusWA for their support during the creation and premiere of this project.

First performed at CircusWA in July 2022.

Down Rebound

“A hidden gem, one of those rare things you find by accident but now you want and need to see more”

Behind the smoke-and-mirrors of a circus performance lies a reality often not discussed. This show discusses it… in a way that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Down Rebound presents a genuine insight into the trials and tribulations of being a circus performer, covering themes of friendship, injuries, support and fear. In this entertaining and uplifting circus-theatre work, you can expect feats of juggling, acrobatics, aerial rope…and some whinging acrobats.

First performed in full as part of Perth Circus Festival at the State Theatre Centre of WA in August 2021.
